Norden Product Base and Technology
Norden products are hybrid microelectronic integrated circuits using PHEMT MESFET and PHEMT MMIC active devices covering the range from 18 to 110 GHz. Components include amplifiers, frequency multipliers, mixers, and power dividers. Amplifiers are built using high precision this film alumina micro circuitry with PHEMT GaAs MESFET MMIC and individual devices as the active components. Assembly uses both high temperatures die attach and epoxy mount. Interconnection of the components is completed with either gold wire or ribbon bonding. Sample distruct testing is performed on both component attachment and wire bonding to insure compliance to the manufacturing process. Final assembly is within a laser sealed hermetic machined package (or epoxy sealed depending on customer requirements). Subassemblies are produced using the component library and additional component development as required to meet customer needs. Thin film and softboard using microstrip, slot line, and co-planer configurations are implemented in hermetic sealed housings to meet extreme enviromental conditions. Housing configurations with RF, DC, and Control interfaces are all customized to meet customer needs. Extensive device, component and subassembly enviromental testing, and individual unit burn-in are part of product verification. This insures both the material and the manufacturing process meet the quality requirements needed to operate within the harsh enviromental conditions often required.
